Ringing in the New Year: "A Starry Night New Year's Eve Gala" is how the Empire Banquet Halls described its glitzy gathering on December 31, 2008 when about 400 party goers welcomed 2009 at the West Indian owned and operated banquet facility. The attendees enjoyed live singing by Geeta and Anil during dinner, while DJ Arjune kept the dance floor jumping all night long. The Host for the evening was Camille Ross, Host of TV program 'Guyana Beat'.
The family focused event featured a delicious dinner, midnight champagne toast, party favours, balloon drop and more. Several lucky winners went home with door prizes which included diamond earrings (custom made by Robin's Goldsmithing), GPS, digital photo frame and iPod.
Empire Banquet Halls caters to Toronto's West Indian community for private functions as well as ticketed special events. It's next big event is 'Back in Time Valentine Dinner and Dance' on Saturday February 14 2009. Information on the Banquet Halls may be had at www.empirebanquethall.com or by calling (416) 679-9403.
